Marisa shot her first television commercial for Victoria’s Secret with fellow supermodel Heidi Klum and she made her debut strut down the world’s sexiest runway at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Since then Marisa has shown no signs of slowing down. By being honored with the coveted cover of the 2008 Sport’s Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, Marisa has secured her place in modeling history. Her whirlwind press tour included David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel, and Ellen. Shortly thereafter, Marisa added another great accolade to her career by debuting as number one on Maxim magazines annual ‘Hot 100′ list. She also launched her own collection of Vans in a first time ever collaboration between Vans Inc. and a supermodel. The line that featured three designs was available on a limited-edition run at exclusive boutiques nationally.
Not forgetting her athletic roots, Marisa showed off her surfing skills to the world in 2004 when she came in second at the celebrity edition of the Kelly Slater Invitational in Fiji.
Giving back to the community has always been a priority for Marisa. She is an ambassador for the Young Survival Coalition, working to bring breast cancer awareness to young women. Marisa is also a spokesperson for The Surfrider Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and preserving the world’s oceans and beaches. In 2005, she also participated in the Fashion for Relief benefit show in September 2005 to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina.
